Environmental & Social Responsibility

Last updated: May 2026

BiMarket UK is committed to running a responsible business — minimising our impact on the environment, supporting the communities we serve and acting ethically across our supply chain. This Policy summarises our principles and ongoing commitments.

1. Environmental commitments

  • Reduce. We continually review our outbound packaging to use only what is needed to protect goods in transit.
  • Reuse. Where possible we reuse inbound packaging materials in outbound shipments.
  • Recycle. We aim to use recyclable cardboard, paper void-fill and recyclable insulation in our standard shipments and clearly label recycling guidance where applicable.
  • Cold-chain insulation. Where insulated packaging or ice packs are required for chilled and frozen goods, we use food-grade materials and continue to test more sustainable alternatives.
  • Energy and operations. We work with suppliers and partners who prioritise energy efficiency and we look to reduce avoidable journeys through efficient route planning and consolidated dispatches.

2. Responsible sourcing

  • We work with established, reputable manufacturers, distributors and importers who operate in line with applicable food-safety, labour and environmental laws.
  • We expect our suppliers to comply with applicable laws on hygiene, traceability, labelling, packaging waste, animal welfare and worker protection.
  • We carry out reasonable due diligence on new suppliers and review existing suppliers regularly.

3. Modern slavery and human trafficking

BiMarket UK has zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour or any form of human exploitation in our operations and supply chains, consistent with the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

  • We expect all suppliers and partners to apply equivalent standards to their own operations and subcontractors.
  • We will investigate any credible concern raised about modern slavery in our supply chain and take appropriate action, which may include suspending or terminating supplier relationships.
  • Concerns can be reported confidentially to [email protected].

4. Diversity, equality and inclusion

We are committed to providing a workplace and service that is free from discrimination. We treat colleagues, suppliers, couriers and customers fairly and with respect, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation (the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010).

5. Food safety and quality

  • We comply with applicable food-safety legislation, including general food hygiene requirements and labelling rules.
  • We work with suppliers who hold appropriate certifications and accreditations.
  • Allergens and ingredients are provided to the best of our suppliers' information; customers must always check the product label before consumption.

6. Community and culture

  • We are proud to serve the Turkish, Mediterranean and broader international communities in Great Britain and to bring authentic foods of those cultures to a wider audience.
  • From time to time we support local community, charitable and cultural initiatives. Partnership requests can be sent to [email protected].

7. Continuous improvement

We recognise that responsible business is a journey, not a destination. We will continue to review our practices, listen to our customers, partners and team, and improve in measurable ways.

8. Reporting concerns

If you have a concern about our environmental impact, supply chain ethics or social-responsibility practices, please contact us at [email protected]. We will treat your concern seriously and respond as soon as reasonably possible.
